I sunk your battleship

25 May 2015

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, today dresses-and-travels proudly presents this super rad beanie by „I sunk your battleship.“ As you guys already know I´m always on the hunt for cool indie labels and therefore I was pretty excited to discover “I sunk your battleship”; or short ISYB. The British newcomer brand actually carries menswear only but if you ask me their classic T- shirts and hats can also be worn by women. One of my favourite things about their products is that they are actually made in Britain and we all know that this is pretty rare nowadays. The design of their clothes is very minimalistic yet unmistakable; featuring naval motives like their trademark flagman on my beanie. If you have no clue about naval signs (like silly me) you are probably wondering what that little man is doing there with the flags. Browsing their website I just learned that there is something like a flag alphabet, called semaphore, which allows seaman to communicate with each other; pretty much like a morse code. ISYB uses these signs to conceal messages on their shirt from landlubbers like me. I LOVED secret messages and languages as a child and they are still pretty exciting to me so obviously the first thing I did was trying to decipher some of their shirts. Then I saw that they provide translations. If you´re intrigued now (and I bet you are because SECRET LANGUAGE, HELLO?!?!) you should definitely head over to their website and find out more about this.  After getting a bit carried away here; I still want to tell you a few things about my beanie. It´s made of a super thick and warm fabric and you can definitely feel that it´s high quality. I have LOADS of beanies and this is seriously the best I have so far. The design is simple but cool and it´s definitely a must-have for streetwear lovers and hipsters (not a hipster ;) After taking these photos I went shopping with my friend so I was basically wearing this for about 8 hours straight because I really didn´t want to take it off anymore. AND it was really sunny. (Does anyone think this is weird btw? Do you wear beanies in summer?) So all in all, if you like buying sustainable, if you want to support local indie brands, if you look hot in streetwear OR if you always wanted to wear a shirt with a hell lot of insults without your grandma realizing, this is the brand for you!

WHAT AM I WEARING?!

Beanie - ISYB (get it here)
shoes - Vans
skirt - New Look

I sunk your batleship,“ kurz ISYB, gehört hab.

  10. Cute outfit! As far as I'm concerned all clothes are unisex :)

Funny little story: I'm from Canada and all of our clothes seem to come from Europe or China. When I was visiting GB a couple years ago, the one shirt I bought was actually made in the United States. A was a little bit disappointed but amused by the irony.
