Trends in 2015 and their origin

23 February 2015

(Steph from faiiint in a transparent dress and Sera from Stardust Bohemian wearing rad flare pants)

Hey guys!! I´ve been asked to write an article about where trends come from with an emphasize on this year for a German website. However, they did not want to publish it because they are connected with a rather big store and apparently wanted more about themselfes and less about other brands. Well, whatever, I wrote it so I might as well post it! I did my best to translate it to English ;) xoxo PS: BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU TO ANDINI, STEPH AND SERA FOR LETTING ME USE THEIR PHOTOS!!!!! GO CHECK THEM OUT!!!

The last few chocolate Santa´s disappeared from the stores and millions of women worldwide have to face the same nerve wrecking problem: Spring is coming and they´ve got absolutely nothing to wear. At this point, most fashion-haters get annoyed. What´s wrong with the clothes from last spring? Well, that´s easy, the fashion world is changing quickly and the clothes from last season are out. One year later, all that stuff in our wardrobes is nothing like the stunning outfits we´ve seen in Spring Summer Fashion week. In SS15, we spotted Models in Barbie Moschino outfits, with blonde, backcombed 80´s hairdos, roller skating on the catwalk while Mc Queen combined Japanese-style prints and cuts with black latex masks. Versace started of slowly with monochrome, asymmetrical skirts and surprised with a dramatic metallic ending covered in glitter. Givenchy such as Topshop unique went for transparent outfits. But how about Lagerfeld? Well, the highlight of his Chanel ready-to-wear show was a demonstration. The models didn´t only shine in brown patchwork jackets and wildly patterned oversized two pieces but also with innovative slogans like “Free Freedom.” While we are still wondering who the hell is going to wear all this, the first celebrity posts his super cool new outfit on Instagram – straight from the catwalk obviously. And now the whole thing is looking quite different. Actually we loved every single piece of the collections and can´t wait until the new trends hit our favourite High street store.
One of the trends we will surely find there is 70s Style. Loose fitting blouses and dresses with bold, ornamental patterns in mustard and dark purple dominate spring fashion. These trend pieces can be combined with over knee boots and chunky heels.  For the brave, there are colourful two-pieces and even flare pants hit the stores again. The 70s will even accompany us to the colder seasons.  Brown suede coats with teddy-fur and A-line miniskirts made of corduroy are the thing to wear next autumn. 70s or not, Vintage Style is definitely hip this year if it comes to men´s fashion. Not far from this is another summer trend: silky, Japanese style Blouses with stylized flower prints. They can be worn with matching sandals or low plateau heels. Tired of all this Hippie stuff? You can cheer up, there´s still metallic! You can´t really go wrong with the cool statement pieces, from metallic skirts, shoes and bralets in smashing colours to golden and silver winter jackets. Designers combine these jackets with moonboots and cause a little 80s revival. The transparent style also stays in fashion. Whether you prefer simple dresses with transparent elements ore see-through boyfriend shirts is up to you.
Now it´s time to free your wardrobe of all these boring old clothes, to empty your bank account on to go on the hunt for the latest trend pieces! If it comes to Fashion, the New Year is going to be everything but boring!

SERA from Stardust Bohemian

ANDINI from Adventures of an Anglophile definitely knows how this 70s thing works :)

CHECK THEM OUT!!! x3
