Smokey eyes, Kara's Blow Dry Bar & Gusto

4 March 2016

A few weeks ago i had the opportunity to take part in the eye opening event collaboration of Kara's Blow Dry Bar, just off Spinningfields, & Gusto. After a warm welcome, that may or may not have involved a glas of champagne, we were shown how to do the perfect smokey eye. Though my smokey eye technique (drawing a thick black circle around it) is already more than advanced I had a lot to learn. No, jokes aside, not only I was surprised to find out that a professional smokey has pretty much more of every other colour than black. Start with light colours, build them up and then add a little finishing touch of black. Also when blending, you are supposed to move your brush in small circles and not just wipe the eyeshadow back and forth. What have I been doing all my life?! After all these revelations, we had a little Pizza break. The thin and crispy Gusto Pizza took me straight back to my annually Italy holiday and was a refreshing change to the usual American style pizza you get all over the UK.
Obviously, it wouldn’t be a Kara’s Blow Dry Bar event without a Blow Dry! The lovely Kara worked wonders and proved that it takes her hardly more than 10 minutes to make flat hair look red carpet ready! I can only recommend to drop by, whether it is during your lunch break on a bad hair day or before a big night out with the gals,

  1. I'm pretty pathetic when it comes to makeup so I think I would've benefited from this a lot, haha.
