Obligatory sobby New Years Post ft. Susans survival tips

31 December 2016

NYE…. It´s that time of the year again. Some people look back on a great year, some come up with things they can do better next year, and some people simply get depressed as fuck and hope the next year will get better. In my case, 2016 started off awful with some heartbreaks, (and it´s all about the heartbreaks ;) trouble at work, loads of negativity, a burglary and too much partying. Moving country was the right the decision at the time and I needed a month of “cleansing.” For at least a month I did nothing but eating healthy, yoga and worshipping the sun. Apart from that I hiked through the “Bronte Country” in Yorkshire, the Highlands, visited Edinburgh 3 times, travelled to Santorini & Mallorca and drove all the way up from southern Germany to Scotland with a stranger and a girl I had known for a month. During all this I had plenty of time to reflect on things that went wrong, and what I needed to do differently to improve my year. I still have a long way to go, but I managed to improve my life a lot and I haven´t been this happy and contempt in a few years. My head is full of creativity at the moment and there are three big projects I´m working on – Come at me 2017 & stay updated ;)

My 2017 survival tips ;)
I had so many pretentious and fake friends at the beginning of the year who made me feel super uncomfortable in my skin. Well, fuck them. Get rid of toxic people, surround yourself with people who genuinely make you feel great. On the other hand, REFLECT! THINK BEFORE YOU ACT. Don’t be a bitch. Hurting people is as bad for yourself as getting hurt.
No idea mate. Personally, I stopped caring – And it feels amazing. Be embarrassing, tell everyone how the sex was, shout someone´s name through a crowded place & wave with a stupid smile, introduce yourself to random people, hunt people down on Facebook, say hi to your crush when they are on a date with someone else. Text first, don´t text twice, no but really don´t text three times. Most importantly if someone texts you three times while you’re busy, avoid stress and block them, they are clearly crazy. Don´t be scared to ask people out, don’t be disappointed if they say no, because 50% will.  And sometimes your one night stand is only a one night stand.
What is important to you? Where do you want to go? If you want something – stop being lazy. WORK. If you want to leave your shitty job, think first, look for something better. In case you don´t know where you want to go, just go somewhere – maybe it´s the right place. Stop making excuses; facebook memes are not a valid reason to stay in bed and a lack of money should not keep you from the travelling, you need less than you think.
After All this is a Fashion Blog and I´m supposed to tell you about clothes and shoes. Well, I could tell you to wear Vintage Moschino and Calvin Klein Dungarees because that´s my jam, but really, I just tell you the same thing over and over – WEAR WHATEVER YOU WANT. Be wild, stop feeling awkward. If you like it – wear it.

  1. I actually like the idea of New Years and change. There's hope in it that we don't have often. It's when I get to look back in happiness or disappointment. 2016 was...strange to say the least, and I know 2017 will be even stranger.

I love your 2017 Survival Tips! Haha! Especially since I don't have any idea what to do about relationships either. For me, it's just go with the flow, and don't forget to have fun! Haha <3

    Happy New Years Susan! <3
